We all come into situations with expectations; see certain people and make assumptions; react to certain experiences with knee-jerk responses learned in our childhood. It’s part of being human. Yet, too often, these ways of being get in our way, making life more difficult for ourselves and those around us. Why is this so and what can we do about it? In her talk today, and in dialog following the service, Dr Ruth Miller uses her own experience along with emerging neurology and cybernetic theory to help us understand and begin to reverse this tendency.
